Trump holds off Iran strike as hopes for diplomacy remain

JUST IN: Trump has approved attack plans against Iran, but has withheld final order to see if Tehran comes to the negotiating table, according to the WSJ.

The report comes as it is being reported that Trump is now in the Situation Room with his National Security Council.

“Trump told senior aides late Tuesday that he approved of attack plans for Iran, but was holding off on giving the final order to see if Tehran will abandon its nuclear program, three people familiar with the deliberations said,” the WSJ reported.

Earlier in the day, Trump said the Iranians wanted to meet in the White House, but he said it was “a little late to meet.”
