Peter Obi has accused President Tinubu of excessive foreign travel, arguing that Nigeria’s worsening challenges require the president’s presence and focused leadership at home.
Former Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has criticised President Bola Tinubu’s frequent foreign trips, saying the president prefers staying abroad while Nigeria grapples with insecurity, economic hardship and infrastructure failures. Obi said Tinubu spent most of January outside the country, leaving Nigerians without credible leadership.
In a statement titled “A Distressing January for Nigeria,” Obi accused the president and the APC of prioritising power politics over governance, alleging Tinubu “only returns to welcome defectors into the APC.” He urged leaders to focus on national challenges rather than election calculations.
