Tinubu names Adeyemi as new Fire Service boss

President Bola Tinubu approved DCG Olumode Samuel Adeyemi as the new substantive Controller-General of the Federal Fire Service, effective August 14, 2025.

President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of DCG Olumode Samuel Adeyemi as the new substantive Controller-General of the Federal Fire Service, effective August 14, 2025.

A statement signed by Abdulmalik Jibrin, Secretary of the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB), said the appointment follows the imminent retirement of the outgoing CG, Engr. Abdulganiyu Jaji Olola, scheduled for August 1, 2025, when he attains the statutory retirement age.

“This appointment follows the imminent retirement of the current Controller-General, Engr. Abdulganiyu Jaji Olola, on 1st August, 2025,” the statement added.

DCG Adeyemi brings extensive experience to his new role, having risen through the ranks from service in the FCT Fire Service to Deputy Controller-General of Fire in the Human Resource Directorate at Service Headquarters. He has attended in-service trainings, command courses, and is a member or fellow of several professional associations including ANAN, the Institute of Corporate Administration of Nigeria, and the Chartered Institute of Treasury Management of Nigeria.

The Board extended appreciation to the retiring Controller-General for his remarkable contributions to the development of the service, acknowledging his dedication and the initiatives he spearheaded during his tenure.
