Tinubu holds emergency security summit after successful rescue in Kwara

President Bola Tinubu convened an urgent closed-door meeting with Nigeria’s top security brass following recent successful rescue operations of 38 worshippers in Kwara State and 51 students in Niger State.

The President, who cancelled his G20 Summit attendance to personally oversee security efforts, vowed that his administration would not rest until Nigeria is safe and secure. The discussions covered reviewing engagement rules, intelligence sharing, and accelerating the acquisition of defense assets to combat banditry, kidnapping, and insurgency.
