One of our leaders in the APC, a former Vice Presidential candidate of the CPC in the 2011 election and APC Presidential Aspirant defeated by President Tinubu in the 2022 Convention, Pastor Tunde Bakare has raised an alarm over the unity that exists between the Executive and Legislative. Bakare believes that unity between arms of government is a taboo in democracy and they must start fighting immediately to save Nigeria from their peaceful coexistence!
Well, while I don’t want to argue too much with Bakare, I salute him for always preaching what he practices! Bakare has helped the Christianity in Nigeria by ensuring that there’s no peace among the leadership of the faith. From fighting Adeboye to Oyedepo to any other leaders which has really helped to popularize the religion especially in the pages of newspapers and social media. However, this doesn’t work for democracy!
Under President Buhari’s first term, the Saraki led NASS practiced exactly what Bakare is preaching today and this didn’t help Nigeria or the Government, it led to disappearance of budgets, scandalizing security operations and criminalizing infrastructural development.
I know that Bakare is still bitter about his abysmal loss in the 2022 APC Primaries, and also TINUBU’s refusal to support his Vice Presidential ambitions in 2011 and 2015, but as a man of God in politics, I’ll advise him to accept the will of God and face his divine calling totally so that he will free himself from his current total capture by flesh!
