Super Eagles striker Akor Adams has left Nigeria’s camp following the team’s 4-0 victory over Mozambique in the AFCON 2025 round of 16. The development was confirmed via an update shared on the Super Eagles’ official X page on Tuesday.
According to the statement, Adams was granted permission to travel and be with his mother, who was hospitalised.
It read: “Akor Adams has been granted permission to leave camp to go be with his mum, who was hospitalised yesterday. “We’re sending prayers and strength to him and wishing his mum a quick recovery.”
Despite receiving the news before kickoff, Adams started the match against Mozambique and scored Nigeria’s fourth goal.
