Sunderland overturned a 2-0 deficit to beat Bournemouth 3-2, with Brian Brobbey heading the winner before Lewis Cook was sent off in stoppage time.
Sunderland produced a lot remarkable comeback to defeat Bournemouth 3-2, despite falling behind early to goals from Amine Adli and a spectacular halfway-line strike from Tyler Adams. Enzo Le Fée pulled one back from the spot after Alex Scott was ruled to have fouled Reinildo, before Bertrand Traoré equalised “seconds after the restart” with a low drive.
Bournemouth briefly thought they had regained the lead but Evanilson’s finish was ruled offside, and substitute Brian Brobbey completed the turnaround by heading in Le Fée’s corner on 69 minutes. Bournemouth pushed late and hit the bar through Marcus Tavernier, but their frustration boiled over when Lewis Cook was shown a 96th-minute red card for “catching Sunderland’s Noah Sadiki with his elbow” as the Black Cats climbed to fourth and extended their unbeaten home run.
