“Stop tweeting, start contesting,” Shehu Sani advises Nigerians aged 30–50

Former Senator Shehu Sani has urged Nigerians aged 30 to 50 to move from online political debate to active political contestation, arguing that meaningful change requires direct participation in party politics and elections.

In a post on social media platform X, Sani directly addressed the demographic, stating: “You are in your 30s, 40s or 50s, your Rep member is in his 30s… Excuse yourself from their comment section… register as a member of a political party and aspire to contest.” He dismissed surveys highlighting youth engagement on social media over politics as unhelpful and encouraged aspirants not to be deterred by a perceived lack of funds.
