South Africa intensifies graft crackdown on firms

South Africa’s Treasury is assessing 509 companies and individuals for potential blacklisting as part of an intensified anti-graft drive. Only 18 entities have been formally restricted so far, with documentation issues causing delays in other cases.

The Department of Public Works launched a national system to track delinquent contractors, preventing them from rebranding. Additionally, all provinces will now form restriction committees to stop blacklisted firms from operating across government sectors.
