Islamic cleric Sheikh Ahmad Gumi recently posted a fervent prayer on social media, calling for divine wrath upon those profiting from Nigeria’s insecurity. His Facebook post on Thursday targeted individuals and entities, foreign or citizen, who initiate, sponsor, or benefit from the “insecurity and bloodbath in Nigeria.”
The prayer drew responses, including Sani Badamasi’s warning that Gumi’s past comments might encourage bandits. Gumi simply replied, “Just say Amin.” He later extended his “Amin” to “all the enemies of Nigeria, bandits included,” in response to another user.
