The Nigerian Senate has commenced the screening of General Christopher Musa as the new Minister of Defence, following his nomination by President Bola Tinubu. Musa is set to replace Mohammed Badaru, who recently resigned from the position due to health reasons.
President Tinubu believes Musa will “strengthen Nigeria’s security framework” as the nation battles insecurity. Badaru’s exit followed public criticism regarding his comments on the difficulty of targeting terrorist hideouts.
