Rivers: Wike threatens to reveal details of agreement with Fubara

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, threatened to disclose a political agreement with Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara if the governor does not make it public. Speaking at a stakeholders’ meeting in Eleme LGA on Wednesday, Wike said the deal was sealed in the presence of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and credited his national-level sacrifices for tangible gains.

Wike highlighted that President Tinubu had honored commitments, including his FCT ministerial appointment and strategic placements of Rivers indigenes in federal positions. He warned, “If he does not tell the Rivers people the agreement we had before Mr. President, I will tell them myself,” emphasizing transparency to the state’s residents.

He also cautioned external political actors against interfering in Rivers State politics, saying, “If you do not understand the politics of Rivers State, sit at home. Nobody will intimidate us.” Wike appreciated Eleme residents for their support and urged continued loyalty to the president and local leaders as preparations for the upcoming political season begin.
