The victim’s mother reported the crime after noticing a foul odor and discovering the maggots.
Richard confessed to the crime, stating he was intoxicated after celebrating the acquisition of a new motorcycle. The girl had been living with her stepfather’s mother, and the assault occurred during one of his visits. The NSCDC has ensured the victim received medical treatment and reaffirmed its commitment to protecting minors and prosecuting offenders.
