Pregnant woman, children among 11 kidnapped in fresh Kwara attack

At least 11 residents, including a pregnant woman, children and nursing mothers, were reportedly kidnapped when heavily armed bandits attacked Isapa community in Kwara State on Monday evening.

Barely a week after 38 worshippers were abducted in Eruku, terror has again struck Kwara State as at least 11 residents — including a pregnant woman, two nursing mothers and several children — were reportedly kidnapped on Monday evening when between 20 and 30 bandits invaded Isapa community in Ekiti LGA.

The attackers, who stormed the area around 6pm with a large herd of cattle, fired indiscriminately and shot into homes, with bullet holes found on walls and doors.

A community leader said seven of the victims were from the same family, describing the incident as “the worst attack we have seen in recent times.”

Security officials confirmed the abductions and said operatives were combing the forests linking Isapa and surrounding villages, though surveillance remains difficult due to the vast terrain.

Police said they were still verifying details, while residents of Isapa, Eruku and nearby communities have been thrown into fresh panic amid intensified vigilante patrols.
