Controversial Nigerian singer Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has welcomed a new child while in detention following his recent remand over criminal charges. Reports indicate that his first wife, Omobewaji, gave birth just five days after the artiste was ordered into custody.
Portable was arraigned on Monday, January 12, 2026, before a Federal High Court in Ogun State on a nine-count charge. The presiding judge declined to grant him bail, citing the absence of the police officer allegedly assaulted by the singer, who was expected to testify in court. The court subsequently ordered his remand in prison custody and adjourned the case to January 19, 2026, for the hearing of his bail application. Sources said the news of the birth has been communicated to Portable in prison, where he reportedly expressed excitement and a desire to secure his release to see his newborn.
