The charges accuse VDM of publishing offensive and false content on Instagram between October 2023 and March 2024.
The police have re-arraigned social media influencer Martins Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), before the Federal High Court in Abuja on a five-count charge of cyberbullying celebrities including Iyabo Ojo, Tonto Dikeh, and Samklef.
VDM, who pleaded not guilty, appeared before Justice Musa Liman on Thursday. His counsel, Deji Adeyanju, urged the court to maintain the bail earlier granted by Justice Mobolaji Olajuwon. Prosecution counsel Victor Okoye did not oppose, and the judge upheld the bail terms, adjourning the trial to July 24.
VDM was initially arraigned on May 22, 2024, on similar charges under the Cybercrime Act, 2015. The case was reassigned following Justice Olajuwon’s transfer.
The charges accuse VDM of publishing offensive and false content on Instagram between October 2023 and March 2024.
Allegations include claiming that “one Iyabo Ojo is having indecent sexual relationship with her daughter” and that “King Tonto Dikeh is behind the gistlover blog.”
