Police bust suspected kidnappers terrorizing Adamawa village

The Adamawa State Police Command has apprehended two suspected kidnappers who allegedly terrorized residents of Sarau Belel community in Maiha Local Government Area. The arrests followed a complaint filed on December 26, 2025, by Emmanuel Daniel of Sagal Village, who reported receiving abduction threats from men claiming responsibility for kidnapping his younger brother, Joshua Daniel, in November 2024.

“Daniel reported that he was being threatened with abduction by two men who allegedly claimed responsibility for the kidnapping of his younger brother, Joshua Daniel, in November 2024,” the statement read. Commissioner of Police Dankombo Morris ordered immediate action upon receiving the report. Operatives led by the Divisional Police Officer in Sarau Belel conducted a coordinated operation resulting in the suspects’ capture.

The arrested individuals were identified as Sunday Yakubu, 36, and Daniel Yakubu, 38, both from Konjoli Village in Maiha Local Government Area. During interrogation, both suspects reportedly confessed to the allegations and are providing investigators with information. Commissioner Morris has directed the Command’s Anti-Kidnapping Unit to handle the case for thorough investigation and prosecution according to law.
