The Ghana Police Service has arrested Evans Eshun, popularly known as Ebo Noah, following a failed Christmas Day doomsday prophecy that triggered widespread fear and public panic, according to a report from Myjoyonline.com. Police sources confirmed that Ebo Noah was detained on Wednesday, December 31, 2025, after months of predicting a global water apocalypse that was expected to begin on December 25.
Authorities expressed concern over reports that hundreds of followers, including some from neighbouring countries, abandoned their homes and gathered at his so-called “ark site” with luggage, raising fears of a potential humanitarian and security crisis.
Ebo Noah first drew international attention in August 2025 after claiming he had received divine instructions to build 10 modern-day arks to save humanity from a three-year global flood, insisting the rains would begin on Christmas Day.
He later claimed that his prayers and fasting had persuaded God to “postpone” the disaster after the prophecy failed, before appearing at rapper Sarkodie’s Rapperholic 2025 concert, where he urged fans to “party” because the doom had been delayed. The incident sparked public outrage and renewed calls for his arrest, as police reiterated that the ban on fake prophecies capable of causing fear and panic remains in force ahead of December 31 Watch Night services.
