Popular TikToker Habeeb Hamzat, known as Peller, says he will remain financially stable despite TikTok’s temporary restriction on nighttime live streams in Nigeria. TikTok confirmed the measure in an in-app notice, stating, “We’re temporarily limiting LIVE late at night in Nigeria as part of our investigation to ensure our platform remains safe and our community stays protected.” The restriction also blocked Nigerians from viewing foreign live broadcasts during affected hours.
In a video posted on Monday, Peller said critics wrongly assume he relies solely on TikTok earnings. “People are expecting me to be crying… thinking I’ll go hungry. I’m an ambassador to numerous brands, and none of my endorsements is less than ₦40 million,” he said. He added that he works with reputable brands, redistributes gifts from livestreams through giveaways, and noted TikTok’s role in helping young creators grow their audiences and income.
