PDP issues expulsion certificates to Wike, Fayose, Anyanwu, others

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has issued formal certificates of expulsion to Nyesom Wike, Ayodele Fayose, Samuel Anyanwu and several others earlier expelled during the party’s national convention, according to National Chairman Tanimu Turaki. Turaki said the certificates, dispatched via courier, would serve as proof that the affected individuals are no longer PDP members, adding, “We have taken note of the fact that Nigerian law frowns on dual membership of political parties… Now that they are no longer members of our party… we have decided to issue them certificates of expulsion.”

He urged INEC and security agencies to take note and warned that anyone dealing with the expelled members does so “at his or her own risk.” Turaki also noted that the NWC reviewed ongoing legal cases, including those involving the “unlawful and illegal” closure of PDP secretariats, stating that “very soon, the law will take its course” as the party moves to strengthen its role as the leading opposition ahead of 2027.
