PayPal launches full operations in Nigeria via Paga partnership

PayPal has launched full operations in Nigeria through a partnership with fintech company Paga, enabling users to receive, hold and withdraw international payments directly in Naira. The collaboration allows Nigerians to link PayPal accounts to Paga wallets, granting access to over 30 million global merchants and more than 400 million PayPal users worldwide.

The integration supports freelancers and businesses by enabling acceptance of international payments, bill payments and global shopping, with withdrawals processed in Naira at competitive “willing-buyer, willing-seller” rates. The service is now live, addressing long-standing restrictions on receiving PayPal funds and supporting Nigeria’s expanding digital economy.
