Onitsha market shutdown part of ‘grand conspiracy’ against Biafra — IPOB

IPOB has accused South-East governors of conspiring to sabotage Biafra restoration, linking the claim to Anambra’s closure of Onitsha Main Market over sit-at-home protests.

The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has alleged a conspiracy by South-East state governments to undermine the Biafra restoration struggle, citing Anambra Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s closure of Onitsha Main Market and threats to shut more markets over Monday sit-at-home observance.

In a statement by spokesman Emma Powerful, IPOB said Soludo’s actions were orchestrated from Abuja, warning they could destabilise the region. “Make no mistake this is not merely about Monday sit-at-home; it is a grand conspiracy,” the group said, urging restraint and non-violence.
