Ojulari snubs Senate again over missing N210tn

Lawmakers described his absence as “a direct attack on the authority of the National Assembly.”

The Group Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), Bayo Ojulari, has again failed to appear before the Senate Committee on Public Accounts over N210 trillion in unaccounted funds.

Despite a 10-day ultimatum, Ojulari sent representatives to Thursday’s hearing, but the committee, chaired by Senator Aliyu Wadada, refused to engage them, insisting only Ojulari could address the 11 financial queries covering 2017 to 2023.

Lawmakers described his absence as “a direct attack on the authority of the National Assembly.” Senator Wadada warned, “We will not tolerate further disregard,” and said a new date would be set.

NNPCL CFO Dapo Segun earlier cited a management retreat as the reason for non-appearance.
