The Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited has reduced its price of petrol across its retail outlets to ₦865 per litre in Lagos and ₦890 per litre in Abuja.
The Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited has reduced its petrol pump prices to ₦865 per litre in Lagos and ₦890 per litre in Abuja, according to reports on August 15, 2025.
This move represents a ₦10 cut in both cities, down from previous rates of ₦875 per litre in Lagos and ₦900 per litre in Abuja.
Observers at NNPC outlets confirmed this adjustment: in Lagos, the Abule Ado station now sells petrol at ₦865, while in Abuja, the Federal Housing Authority outlet in Kubwa lists it at ₦890.
This reduction follows a brief uptick earlier in the month, when NNPC raised prices to ₦915 per litre in Lagos and ₦955 in Abuja, only to reverse course days later.
The development mirrors recent actions by the Dangote Petroleum Refinery, which cut its petrol price to ₦820 per litre on August 12, after briefly raising prices to ₦850.
