NIMC launches NIN authentication service

The service includes web, API, and mobile verification options, aiming to enhance data security and simplify access to government services.

The National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) has launched the NIN Authentication (NINAuth) service, a secure platform designed to streamline identity verification across Nigeria. This initiative, approved by the Federal Government, aims to enhance data security and simplify access to government services.

According to Dr. Kayode Adegoke, Head of Corporate Communications at NIMC, the NINAuth service includes web, API, and mobile verification options, ensuring seamless integration with government systems. “This is part of President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda on strengthening the national identity management system,” Adegoke stated.

The service requires explicit user consent before data sharing, aligning with privacy protection standards. It facilitates secure access to services such as SIM registration, passport processing, tax filings, and financial transactions. NINAuth is designated as the exclusive platform for all NIN-based verification and authentication integration processes.
