Nigeria’s First Lady donates 1,000 bags of rice to southern Borno Christians

Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has donated 1,000 bags of rice to Christians in southern Borno State to ease hardship and support celebrations for the 2025 Christmas season and the 2026 New Year. The donation was distributed through the Christian Northern Nigerian Political Forum (CNNPF) for beneficiaries across the zone.

Speaking at the flag-off of the distribution on Saturday, CNNPF State Coordinator, Lami Ibrahim, described the gesture as timely and impactful.
According to her, “We are here to flag off the distribution of food items donated to Borno State by the Wife of the President, Senator Oluremi Tinubu.” She added that the rice would be shared across all southern local government areas of the state.

Ibrahim explained that logistical challenges caused delays but stressed the importance of the intervention. “It is better late than never. Christmas is a season, and we are still within that season,” she said. Religious leaders, including EYN Resident Pastor Usman Waziri Dibal, expressed gratitude, noting that the donation renewed hope amid economic hardship and reflected inclusive governance.
