Troops of Operation Hadin Kai, alongside the Civilian Joint Task Force, have killed 12 suspected Boko Haram and ISWAP fighters in Borno. The operation also recovered arms and drugs, disrupting insurgents’ logistics in the region.
Troops of Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK) have killed 12 suspected Boko Haram and Islamic State in West Africa Province (ISWAP) fighters in Borno state.
Citing security sources, Zagazola Makama, a counter-insurgency publication focused on the Lake Chad region, said the feat was achieved in collaboration with the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF) and other security agencies.
Makama said the terrorists were neutralised during long-range tactical operations conducted between August 29 and 30 in Tamsu Ngamdu, Dalakaleri, Gaza, and Loskori Kura villages. Troops engaged the insurgents in a fierce gun battle at Loskori Kura, killing 12 of them.
“Some of the terrorists were observed receiving treatment from injuries sustained in an earlier encounter with troops the previous day,” Makama quoted the sources as saying.
Six AK-47 rifles, eight magazines, and assorted drugs were recovered. The operation disrupted insurgents’ movement and supply in the area, as military offensives continue in the north-east.
