Court Acquits Abba Kyari, Brothers of Asset Non-Disclosure Charges

A Federal High Court in Abuja has discharged and acquitted suspended Deputy Commissioner of Police, Abba Kyari, and his two brothers, Mohammed and Ali, of charges related to the alleged non-disclosure of assets.

Delivering judgment on Thursday, Justice James Omotosho ruled that the prosecuting agency, the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), failed to prove the allegations beyond reasonable doubt, as required by law. The court held that the evidence presented was insufficient to secure a conviction, leading to the acquittal of the defendants.


Dangote Refinery Assures Nigerians of Steady Domestic Fuel Supply

Kano Assembly Begins Impeachment Process Against Deputy Governor

The Inter-Party Advisory Council has warned that political parties across Nigeria may boycott the 2027 general elections if controversial provisions in the newly enacted Electoral Act 2026 are not urgently amended.

The umbrella body of registered political parties said the law, recently signed by President Bola Tinubu, contains provisions that could undermine internal party democracy and weaken the credibility of the electoral process.
