The Nigerian Navy recently concluded the recruitment of 1,962 ratings. Chief of Naval Staff Idi Abbas inducted the new sailors at the Batch 37 passing-out parade held at the Nigerian Navy Basic Training School in Onne, Rivers.
These new ratings will join operations combating maritime crime, oil theft, and insurgency. The recruitment aims to strengthen national security and boost crude oil output, which has seen growth since 2022 due to anti-theft efforts.
