Nigerian Army troops from 6 Brigade/Sector 3 Operation Whirl Stroke (OPWS) have successfully cleared criminal hideouts and neutralized armed elements in Taraba State. Operations on December 2, 2025, under “Operation Zafin Wuta” in Takum Local Government Area, led to the destruction of bandit camps and the arrest of one suspect, Dahiru Maigari. Troops pursued fleeing criminals into Benue State.
Further action on December 4 near Karim Lamido involved a fighting patrol that encountered gunmen. Soldiers returned fire, killing two attackers and recovering an AK-47 rifle with 21 rounds of ammunition. Brigadier General Kingsley Chidiebere Uwa praised the troops, assuring Taraba residents of ongoing efforts to restore peace.
