Nigerian troops killed seven ISWAP terrorists, rescued five kidnap victims, and foiled attacks in Borno within 24 hours.
The Nigerian Army says its troops have killed seven ISWAP terrorists, rescued five kidnap victims, and foiled multiple attacks during coordinated operations in Borno, Yobe, Plateau, and Nasarawa states within the last 24 hours.
A military source told the News Agency of Nigeria that troops of 195 Battalion, supported by Civilian Joint Task Force, conducted an offensive in Loskori Kura, Mafa LGA, killing seven terrorists and recovering two AK-47 rifles, magazines, and hard drugs. Two terrorists surrendered in Gwoza and Kukawa, while a logistics supplier was arrested in Banki with currencies and phones.
“Troops foiled coordinated attacks in Jere, Konduga and Damboa LGAs following proactive surveillance and artillery response,” the source said.
The Army also intercepted a truck with 1,360 packets of tramadol in Biu and arrested a suspect in Yobe with ₦270,000 allegedly for terror logistics.
Operations also led to arrests in Plateau and Benue, while efforts to rescue more kidnap victims continue.
