The Nigerian Army on Saturday inaugurated a new Land Warfare Wargaming Centre at the Armed Forces Command and Staff College (AFCSC), Jaji, aimed at strengthening officers’ operational planning and professional education.
Chief of Army Staff Lt.-Gen. Waidi Shaibu described the facility as a “significant leap” in preparing officers for contemporary and future challenges, praising the college’s efforts in producing high-quality middle-level officers to support national defence objectives.
The centre, designed for both Land Warfare students and joint exercises with other security agencies, features a 264-seater gallery, planning cells, 3-D printer room, digital screens, and cutting-edge simulation technology.
Conceptualised in 2024 and completed within 11 months, it also includes multi-functional command areas, VIP lounge, CCTV, and a 100 KVA generator. AFCSC commandant AVM Hassan Alhaji and Brig.-Gen. N.U.C. Ogili highlighted the centre’s role in improving decision-making, tactical planning, and operational training outcomes.
