Eighteen-year-old Osariemen Unuigbe, daughter of Nigerian immigrants, has secured admission offers from six Ivy League schools, including Harvard and Yale. The Egg Harbor Township High School senior, whose parents are Dr. Augustine and Dr. Florence Unuigbe, attributed her success to hard work and faith. “We are elated, surprised, but absolutely delighted,” her family said. Unuigbe, a Governor’s School alumna, excels in academics, sports, and arts, earning recognition as a 2025 “Rising to the Top” scholar.
Osariemen Unuigbe, a Nigerian-American scholar, has been accepted into six top U.S. universities. Active in lacrosse and arts, she was honored by the National Coalition of 100 Black Women. Nigerian student enrollment in U.S. schools rose by 13.5%, per recent data.
