Buba Galadima, a prominent figure in the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), has called upon the Nigerian Federal Government to prioritize the protection of schools rather than resorting to closures in response to rising insecurity.
Speaking on Arise Television, Galadima emphasized the critical need for advanced technological solutions and specialized security units to preempt and address threats, criticizing school closures as a “shameful” and ineffective measure. This appeal follows the government’s recent decision to shut down 41 unity colleges due to a resurgence in student abductions.
