The Nigeria Customs Service seized petroleum products worth N181.6 million in Adamawa during an eight-week initiative called “Operation Whirlwind.” The seizures occurred in 55 separate operations along the Nigeria-Cameroon border to combat smuggling.
Officials stated the operation supports President Bola Tinubu’s economic security goals. The confiscated products will be publicly auctioned, while smugglers face severe penalties, including potential life imprisonment, for threatening national security.
