Nichub has publicly congratulated and celebrated her fellow colleague ThankGod Ochogu following his remarkable achievement of winning a national award, expressing pride and admiration for his dedication and success; this recognition highlights Ochogu’s contributions and serves as an inspiration to peers, with Nichub’s acknowledgment underscoring the value of teamwork and shared accomplishments in their professional community.
After serious commitment work of five (5) years, we are so happy to celebrate how far we have come with a national award that was won by a NICHUB FELLOW, Ochogu ThankGod who was recently honored by the Federal Government of Nigeria with the NYSC President’s Honors Award for his outstanding achievements and projects commissioned during his service year in Ekiti State (2021/2022). His story and achievement embody the impact we strive to create at NICHUB.
Just like Ochogu, we believe empowered youth are the foundation of a thriving society and that is why since its conception and founding in 2020, NICHUB has been at the forefront of youth empowerment in Africa—equipping young people with the skills, mindset, and resilience needed to lead and create meaningful change.
Our mission is to provide young people with skills, knowledge, and resources they need to build capacity, gain relevance as role models, and become leaders in their communities. This is achieved by offering a variety of programs and initiatives targeted at training, mentoring, equipping and peer learning that not just deliver knowledge, but fosters personal growth and transformation.
Key Impact Milestones
- In 2024, we had a total number of 100 students admitted for our flagship Growth Mentorship Program (GMP); a transformative 90-days journey in leadership and capacity building. After the impactful and pivotal training and tests, 36 students successfully graduated.
- This year, 2025, we are set to graduate 38 students out of the 96 students that were admitted for the program. These students have been equipped with the skills, mindset, and confidence required to lead in their communities and careers.
- We also engage youths in an annual Employability Bootcamp organized to prepare job seekers to harness their skills and earn using appropriate and strategic tools to get jobs and gain viable working experience. We trained 50 persons in 2024 and we are getting prepared to commence training for this year.
- Over the years, we have established peer accountability groups that drive collaborative learning and personal discipline among participants both during and after the training.
- We have also helped our students connect and engage with experienced mentors from diverse industries to provide one-on-one guidance, career insights, and leadership coaching.
- The nature of the training programs led to the unique design of our training modules which covers digital literacy, leadership excellence, and career readiness among others, ensuring graduates are equipped for the modern workforce.
We recently launched an edtech solution called Karia (karia.com) with the goal to help young individuals maximize career, scholarship and job opportunities. So far, we have built a community of over 300 persons who are actively engaging with us.
Beyond the Numbers
While these figures speak to NICHUB’s reach, the real story lies in personal transformation. Alumni often describe the GMP as a turning point—unlocking confidence, purpose, and the practical tools to act on their ambitions. Persons have also gotten jobs and opportunities that aligns with their career after the EMP Bootcamp. Many have gone on to launch community initiatives, secure leadership roles, and mentor others in turn.
Looking Ahead
- Scaling Reach: Expanding program access to youth across more African regions.
- Program Innovation: Introducing new courses in entrepreneurship, climate action digital marketing, and civic engagement.
- Strategic Partnerships: Collaborating with universities, corporate organizations, and development agencies to amplify resources and opportunities.
- Impact Measurement: Tracking long-term alumni success through career growth, business creation, and community projects.
- Alumni Network: Establishing a formal platform for graduates to share resources, mentor peers, and multiply impact.
In less than five years, NICHUB has moved from a promising idea to a catalyst for youth leadership and societal transformation. Through its flagship programs and growing alumni network, it continues to shape the leaders Africa needs today—and tomorrow. As we grow, we remain true to our vision of empowering young people to achieve their full potential and make positive impact in their communities.
