House Oversight Committee Democrats on Friday released 19 photos from a trove of 95,000 images recovered from Jeffrey Epstein’s estate. The pictures feature several prominent figures, including film director Woody Allen, Richard Branson, Bill Gates, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, President Trump and former President Bill Clinton. Lawmakers said the images offer new context into Epstein’s connections and hinted at disturbing aspects of his private life.
Some photos show celebrities and officials on private jets, beaches, and social gatherings, while others depict paraphernalia from a sex shop. Several images include individuals with redacted faces. “Where individuals’ faces are redacted, that has been done by the Committee’s staff,” Epstein estate attorney Daniel H. Weiner said, adding that the edits were required to protect potential victims. Republicans accused Democrats of “cherry-picking” the release to create a “false narrative” about President Trump.
The release comes a week before the Justice Department is required to make public all federal files related to Epstein, who died in 2019 while awaiting trial for sex trafficking. “It is time to end this White House cover-up and bring justice to the survivors,” Rep. Robert Garcia said. “These disturbing photos raise even more questions about Epstein and his relationships with some of the most powerful men in the world.”
