New Chelsea head coach Liam Rosenior has been convicted of speeding after failing to attend a speed awareness course due to travel disruption, according to Sky News. Rosenior admitted driving at 36mph in a 30mph zone in Derbyshire on 7 July and was convicted at a single justice procedure hearing on 2 January, where he was ordered to pay £1,052 in fines, costs and court fees.
In a note to the court, Rosenior said fog delayed his flight back to the UK, meaning he was unable to attend the course, adding: “Unfortunately, the course could not be fulfilled due to unforeseen circumstances.” The 41-year-old was appointed Chelsea head coach on Tuesday following Enzo Maresca’s exit and has signed a contract running until 2032.
