The Olori Ebi of the Fusengbuwa Ruling House, Otunba Lateef Owoyemi, has said the next Awujale of Ijebuland could emerge within the next 14 days following the conclusion of the nomination process. Owoyemi, who is also the Otunba Jadiara, disclosed this while speaking with reporters after the exercise held at the Bisi Rodipe Hall, GRA, Ijebu Ode, and attended by representatives of the Ijebu Ode Local Government led by its Secretary, Abiodun Oke-Adebanjo, alongside key leaders of the ruling house.
Out of the 95 princes and princesses who initially indicated interest in the revered stool, only 85 participated in the nomination process, with Fuji star Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, popularly known as KWAM1, absent as his name was not listed among the nominees. Owoyemi said all participants signed an undertaking to avoid litigation after the process, adding that the names of successful nominees would be forwarded to the Afobaje (kingmakers) for the next stage of selection.
