Ned Nwoko says Regina Daniels’ mother introduced her to him, denies pursuing her

Ned Nwoko insists he did not pursue Regina Daniels, claiming her mother brought her to him for marriage and that the actress was 19 at the time, not 17.

The Senator representing Delta North, Ned Nwoko, has denied claims that he pursued his estranged wife, actress Regina Daniels, for marriage. The lawmaker made the clarification amid growing controversy surrounding their six-year marriage.

Regina had recently accused Nwoko of domestic violence and announced her decision to end the union. In response, Nwoko alleged that the actress was battling substance abuse and needed rehabilitation.

The public dispute has drawn criticism, with many Nigerians accusing the senator of marrying Regina when she was still a minor.

In a statement released by his Communication and Technical Action Team, Nwoko said Regina’s mother introduced her to him.

“For clarity, Regina Daniels was born October 10, 2000. If she has been married to me for six years, that means she married at 19 and not 17,” he said. “There were witnesses to the fact that her mother personally brought her to me. I never went after her.”
