A video making the rounds on social media has captured a violent physical confrontation between a lecturer and a female student at Niger Delta University.

The clip, shared on Monday by This is Bayelsa on Facebook, shows the lecturer and the student engaging in a physical fight inside a lecture hall, with the lecturer at one point headbutting the student.

Reports suggest the clash started after the lecturer accused the student of cheating during an exam and ordered her out of the hall.

The student allegedly refused to leave, insisting on retrieving her phone, which escalated into the violent confrontation.

In the video, a voice was heard saying: “Young lady, leave the hall first. You were caught cheating. Instead of you to leave the hall, you’re still doing ‘give me my phone’.”

In another video shared on Wednesday, Favour, a 300-level student of History and Diplomacy in the Faculty of Arts, issued a public apology for her role in spreading the footage.
