Navy Redoubles Effort to Protect Critical Assets

The Nigerian Navy’s Central Naval Command has launched a sea exercise named ‘Exercise EBI TORU’ (Safe Sea) in Warri, Delta State. This operation aims to enhance the protection of critical national assets within the Niger Delta region and boost Nigeria’s oil production.

Rear Admiral Suleiman Ibrahim, Flag Officer Commanding the Central Naval Command, stated that the exercise is a significant step towards improving maritime security, fostering inter-agency cooperation, and ensuring the safety of lives and property in the maritime environment. The drills are designed to sharpen operational readiness and response capabilities.

The exercise encompasses various drills, including protection of critical infrastructure, maritime interdiction, anti-piracy, search and rescue, anti-smuggling, and emergency response simulations. These activities are crucial for identifying and addressing vulnerabilities and threats within Nigeria’s Exclusive Economic Zone.
