NAFDAC warns Nigerians over circulation of fake Kiss condoms

The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has alerted Nigerians to the sale and distribution of fake Kiss Condoms in several markets across the country, warning that the counterfeit products pose serious risks to public health. The agency disclosed this in a statement dated December 18 and circulated on social media on Monday, cautioning consumers against using the fake condoms due to their potential failure in preventing unwanted pregnancies and sexually transmitted infections.

“The Fake Kiss Condom has been reported to be found in Onitsha Market, Idumota Market, Trade Fair Market, and various markets in Kano, Abuja, Uyo, Gombe, Enugu, and others,” NAFDAC said. It added, “Kiss Condom is a brand of male latex condoms designed for sexual protection, mainly to help prevent unwanted pregnancy and sexually transmitted infections (STIs) such as HIV, gonorrhea, and syphilis.” The agency also outlined key features to help the public identify genuine Kiss Condoms and avoid purchasing counterfeit versions.
