NAFDAC issued a strong warning against the rising smuggling of prohibited food products like pasta and sugar across Nigeria. These items are on the Federal Government’s Customs Prohibition List, posing significant public health risks and violating trade laws.
The agency stated these products lack mandatory safety evaluations. NAFDAC directed all stakeholders to stop their sale and distribution, warning of strict enforcement. Director-General Prof. Mojisola Adeyeye reaffirmed the commitment to public health.
