NAFDAC assures Nigerians over Indomie recall, says product not sold locally

The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has assured Nigerians that the recalled Indomie Noodles Vegetable Flavour does not involve any products registered or sold in Nigeria. The recall was initiated by French authorities after the discovery of undeclared allergens, including milk and eggs, in the product.

NAFDAC emphasized that the product in question is neither manufactured in Nigeria nor registered for sale in the country. The agency also pointed out that the importation of noodles into Nigeria is prohibited, significantly reducing the likelihood of the recalled product entering the Nigerian market.

In a related statement, Indomie Nigeria clarified that the affected product is not sold in Nigeria, adding that all locally produced Indomie noodles meet NAFDAC’s stringent regulatory standards. The company also reassured consumers that locally manufactured Indomie products remain safe for consumption.
