NAF promotes 57 senior officers

The Nigerian Air Force has announced the promotion of 57 senior officers, with “a distinguished cadre of 27 senior officers” elevated to Air Vice Marshal and 30 others to Air Commodore, in a development the Service says will enhance leadership capacity amid growing security challenges.

According to the statement by Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, the promotions followed rigorous assessments based on merit, professional competence, operational experience, and alignment with NAF’s strategic goals, while the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, described the elevation as both recognition and responsibility, noting that “Nigeria is facing one of its most complex security environments in recent history.”

He emphasized that “the nation needs leaders who think clearly under pressure,” urging the officers to uphold integrity, sharpen operational decision-making, and strengthen synergy across the Armed Forces as NAF pursues reforms to build a smarter and more technologically driven air power.
