Military strikes kill dozens, round up 100 suspects within a week

Nigerian defense forces have crippled multiple insurgent networks across the country, resulting in scores of neutralized terrorists, 100 arrests, and the rescue of 29 citizens.

The Nigerian military neutralized dozens of terrorists and apprehended over 100 suspects during nationwide operations between January 19 and 23. Major-General Michael Onoja reported that coordinated strikes across the North East and North West disrupted criminal networks and recovered significant weaponry. These intelligence-driven missions successfully rescued at least 29 kidnapped victims while maintaining strict humanitarian standards.

“Air interdiction and armed reconnaissance missions carried out in Damboa, Abadam, and Doron Duguri areas of Borno State resulted in multiple precision strikes,” Onoja stated. He confirmed that “dozens of terrorists were neutralised and their equipment destroyed.” Operations also extended to the South-South and South East, where troops dismantled illegal refineries and secured the surrender of 80 militants.
