Military announces major overhaul of top leadership

Oluyede charged the newly appointed officers to redouble their efforts in sustaining ongoing operations against terrorism, insurgency and other security threats

Olufemi Oluyede, Chief of Army Staff (COAS), has approved the redeployment of senior officers into key command and staff positions. In a statement issued on Sunday, Acting Director of Army Public Relations Appolonia Anele said the new postings affect principal staff officers at the Army Headquarters, general officers commanding, corps commanders, commandants of training institutions, and brigade commanders.

The full list of postings is as follows:

  1. Adekunle Adeyinka, Major General — Chief of Logistics (Army)
  2. A.A. Adekeye, Major General — Chief of Personnel Management (Army)
  3. T.B. Ugiagbe, Major General — Chief of Standard and Evaluation
  4. A.A. Idris, Major General — Chief of Military Intelligence (Army)
  5. M.O. Erebulu, Major General — Provost Marshal (Army)
  6. E.A. Anaryu, Major General — Corps Commander, Supply and Transport
  7. J.E. Osifo, Major General — Director-General, Nigerian Army Finance Corporation
  8. S.A. Akesode, Major General — Head of Mission, African Union Verification Mission in Tigray, Ethiopia

  1. A.S.M. Wase, Major General — GOC 1 Division / Commander Sector 1, Operation FANSAN YAMMA
  2. C.R. Nnebeife, Major General — GOC 2 Division / Commander Sector 3, Operation FANSAN YAMMA
  3. M.O. Ihanuwaze, Major General — Commandant, Nigerian Army Finance School
  4. K.O. Osemwegie, Major General — Head, Army Signal School
  5. A.J. Aliyu, Major General — Head, Ordnance School
  6. A.C. Adetoba, Major General — Commandant, Nigerian Army College of Logistics and Management
  7. M. Jimoh, Brigadier General — Commander, 1 Brigade
  8. N.E. Okoloagu, Brigadier General — Commander, 2 Brigade
  9. A.A. Bello, Brigadier General — Commander, 6 Division Garrison / Sector 3, Operation DELTA SAFE

In his charge to the newly posted officers, COAS Oluyede urged them to “redouble their efforts in sustaining ongoing operations against terrorism, insurgency and other security threats.” He also assured that the welfare of troops “remained his priority.”
