Louvre heist suspect described as Good Samaritan by Paris driver

“I was calling the police to send a tow truck… but he was the only one who stopped to help.”

LONDON — Weeks before a $102 million jewelry heist at the Louvre Museum, one of the suspects reportedly helped a stranded driver on a Paris highway.

Ahmed Alla, 24, told ABC News he ran out of gas on the Paris ring road in September when a motorcyclist stopped to assist.

“He said, ‘I can push your car out of the way, then we’ll get it off the ring road, so you don’t get a €135 ($157) fine,'” Alla recalled. “I thought it was dangerous, but he reassured me… giving advice. Very, very nice.”

A video Alla recorded, later posted online, showed the man waving as he drove off. Weeks later, Alla was surprised to see the Snapchat handle linked to one of the Louvre robbery suspects.

Authorities have not confirmed the man’s identity. Seven suspects have been arrested in the audacious daytime theft of crown jewels on October 19.
