President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the deployment of 65 ambassadors to foreign missions and the UN, including Femi Fani-Kayode to Germany and Reno Omokri to Mexico.
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the posting of 65 ambassadors-designate and high commissioners to various countries and the United Nations. Among the non-career appointees, Femi Fani-Kayode will serve in Germany while presidential aide Reno Omokri has been assigned to Mexico, according to a statement signed by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.
The list includes 34 non-career and 31 career ambassadors, with former Interior Minister Abdulrahman Dambazau posted to China and Senator Jimoh Ibrahim named Nigeria’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations. The Presidency said the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will begin an induction programme for the envoys as host countries process diplomatic approval (agrément) before they assume duty.
